Ah, Halloween. It’s the one day of the year in which we can dress as serial killers and D-list celebrities without being judged. It’s kind of like The Purge, but on a much more humane level. Halloween is the only occasion in which grossing out your guests is deliberate and socially acceptable.
I tend not to get into seasonal decorating or crafts, but I do love me some holiday cooking. So I rounded up some of the grodiest Halloween recipes out there. Warning: proceed with caution and an empty stomach.
Let’s begin this collection with a warm-up. Some of these are kid-friendly, yet still sickening. (DISCLAIMER: I have no children and therefore cannot be held liable for any nightmares or tossage of cookies.)

Bodily excrement and functions are always a safe bet for turning your guests’ stomachs. Check out these creations.

This is actually one I made last year. I adapted this kitty litter cake from this recipe and used crushed vanilla wafers, Little Debbie brownies, and green sugar crystals. The brownies were much easier to work with than Tootsie Rolls, since they’re more pliable.

When in doubt, go for the gore with bloodied and detached body parts.

I love these! We make the kitty litter cake almost every Halloween, but I really like those boogers on a stick and the shrimp ears!

Thanks for commenting! Do you ever have enough people eat the cake? I made it one year and had to convince people to try it, LOL.
