It’s easy to get lost in life sometimes. One thing that’s always helped me feel grounded and at peace is to think of everything I’m thankful for. With that in mind, I decided to try something new. Each week, I’ll post the current things I’m grateful for. Continue reading to see what’s got me feeling great this week.
Detox water. I found this recipe from Blogilates while searching for ways to alleviate the dreaded monthly bloat. (Ladies, you know what I’m talking about.)
I made my first batch today, so I can’t speak to how well it works yet. But it’s very easy to make and tastes great. It’s also a wonderful way to add some variety to your daily water intake, if you get bored like I do.
Knife sharpeners. I love chopping food & do it just about every day, so this was a smart investment. I just love it when a knife slices vegetables easily like buttah.
My grill (and DIY grill cover!). I debated buying a larger grill, but I’m so glad I did. Now I know why so many people love to grill. I actually find it calming… especially with a glass of wine to accompany my time outdoors.
Dave Chappelle. The old man & I went to see his stand-up show in the D last night. Apparently Dave was lost in the sauce at the Thursday show, so I was a bit concerned. Thankfully, he didn’t disappoint. He even addressed his eff-up with some self-deprecating humor. We had a blast.
Happy news. Most times, watching the news is overwhelming for me. So I love it when I come across something uplifting. Stories like this helps restore my hope for humanity.
Bubble baths. A dinky apartment-sized bathtub doesn’t stop me. Bubble baths have come in handy this week as I’ve started a new strength-training routine.
Buds on trees. Spring is my absolute favorite season. I love witnessing the transformation of nature and its symbolism. I get giddy when trees start budding and blooming.
Cheaper utilities. Another sign of spring is a cheaper electric bill! We’re still working through some chilly days here in NW Ohio, but my bill was $70 cheaper this month. This time of year is that sweet spot where neither the heat nor the A/C is used much, if at all.
I look forward to writing this each week and sharing it with you! Feel free to leave a comment & share what you’re grateful for this week!
